Whirlwind Wrap Up in El Peñón

In the whirlwind of wrapping up our last two days in El Peñón, we took fewer photos than we’d hoped, but know that our students worked hard to put the finishing touches on our group projects and their own independent projects. Two murals were painted, an intro to English class was taught in the public park (kids young and old showed up to learn!), and we hosted a touching goodbye party. After all of our shared experiences, tears were shed by both leaders, our  students, and members of the community. Our last days in El Peñón were a time for reflection and we sincerely believe that all of our students have grown in their time here and that the students we are returning with are different than the ones we left with (we mean this in the best possible way!).

Typing through the tears,
